Clockwork Princess - Cassandra Clare

Overview:

Danger and betrayal, love and loss, secrets and enchantment are woven together in the breathtaking finale to the #1New York Times bestselling Infernal Devices Trilogy, prequel to the internationally bestselling Mortal Instruments series.

THE INFERNAL DEVICES WILL NEVER STOP COMING

A net of shadows begins to tighten around the Shadowhunters of the London Institute. Mortmain plans to use his Infernal Devices, an army of pitiless automatons, to destroy the Shadowhunters. He needs only one last item to complete his plan: he needs Tessa Gray.

Charlotte Branwell, head of the London Institute, is desperate to find Mortmain before he strikes. But when Mortmain abducts Tessa, the boys who lay equal claim to her heart, Jem and Will, will do anything to save her. For though Tessa and Jem are now engaged, Will is as much in love with her as ever.

As those who love Tessa rally to rescue her from Mortmain’s clutches, Tessa realizes that the only person who can save her is herself. But can a single girl, even one who can command the power of angels, face down an entire army?

Danger and betrayal, secrets and enchantment, and the tangled threads of love and loss intertwine as the Shadowhunters are pushed to the very brink of destruction in the breathtaking conclusion to the Infernal Devices trilogy.

My thoughts:

The hardest part about reviewing this final book in the series, is not spoiling the book for anyone. So I will make it short and simple.

This book is a real tearjerker and you should have tissues ready. The entire book is nothing but an emotional roller coaster ride. Happy, sad, shocked, sad, grieved back to happy, surprised and so on ;)

Everything will be revealed form what Tessa is and why Mortmain wants or needs her so bad to whether there is cure for Jem, and who if anyone Tessa will choose.

The Epilogue was EPIC and I had a hard time reading through the tears.

What an amazing way to end such a wonderful series. And in a weird kind of way everyone who made it through the book got a happy ending.

I definitely will add the “The Infernal Devices” to my favorites.

Well done Cassandra Clare.

My favorite quotes:

“I would think that counted as offering resistance, eating one’s son in law, that is. Though I suppose everyone has their family altercations”    ~ Will

“I lived for you, and I lived for Will, and then I lived for Tessa- and for myself, because I wanted to be with her. But I cannot live for other people forever. No one can say that death found in me a willing comrade, or that I went easily. If you say you need me, I will say as long as I can for you. I will live for you and yours, and go down fighting death until I am worn away to bone and splinters. But it would be my choice”    ~ Jem
