Even White Trash Zombies Get the Blues - Diana Rowland

syns

Angel Crawford is finally starting to get used to life as a brain-eating zombie, but her problems are far from over. Her felony record is coming back to haunt her, more zombie hunters are popping up, and she’s beginning to wonder if her hunky cop-boyfriend is involved with the zombie mafia. Yeah, that’s right—the zombie mafia.

Throw in a secret lab and a lot of conspiracy, and Angel’s going to need all of her brainpower—and maybe a brain smoothie as well—in order to get through it without falling apart.

4 ½ ★

This books just starts a few weeks where the last book ended and get us right back to Angel and her job and now new boyfriend.

I really love Angel she is truly realistic down to earth has flaws and struggles but yet we love her as she is trying to better her life.

I love that it takes her a while and she is not just perfect even though she not taking drugs anymore. While she works to get her life even more under control and working on getting a GED she still struggles and falls back to her old self a little.

She also working on her relationship with her dad, again it all is just real, it has more downs than ups but they are working on it. And it really awesome to follow them on the often hard journey to a sober life and a good father –daughter relationship.

I really don’t like Marcus in this book. And I was glad we don’t get to see him all that often because he was just a bit too much and almost clingy and over protective of her as even she points out.

We get some really surprising twists in this book and I really enjoyed that up to the very last pages we don’t know who really the “bad” guy is. Every time I thought I knew it changed.

Some people returning from the first book. Some people are not as much in it. We also get to know a few other people, including Marcus’s uncle and some other family members.

Nick ‘the prick’ is really coming around and I’m super stoked about that, he was one of my favorites from the last book.  The same goes for Derrell but he was a good guy from the beginning.

Overall, great book, some great humor, action, some gross stuff. I really enjoy the series so far. But I still think what I like the most is the growth of Angel, how far she already has gotten and am excited to see how far she will go. There was one thing at the very end, where I thought it was almost too easy and really  would have loved to not see it that easy but I will see how it continues.

But overall I really loved this book and can’t wait to get to the next one. I rate it at 4 ½ ★
