What if the person you were meant to be with could never be yours?
17-year-old Lucinda falls in love with a gorgeous, intelligent boy, Daniel, at her new school, the grim, foreboding Sword & Cross . . . only to find out that Daniel is a fallen angel, and that they have spent lifetimes finding and losing one another as good & evil forces plot to keep them apart.

2★
I always like a good book about angels & demons, and it had okay reviews on Goodreads, plus I liked the cover, so when I saw this book in a used bookstore I had to get it.
It took me a while to get to it and when I finally got to it I was fairly disappointed. I really didn’t see all the hype about this book (I heard the making or made a movie based on the book).
I really liked the idea and concept of the book but not the book itself. I know it is a YA and most of the time I have no problem reading YA but this book made me want to smack Luci all the time. She seemed naïve and very immature and there was way too much teenage angst in this book, even for a YA.
Daniel while not immature, was also a little over the top with his brooding and “want to be a bad boy” image.
Really both of them made Bella and Edward look mature and likeable.
Overall I liked the idea, but it was not very well done. It seemed very immature including some of the dialog they had.
But enough other people liked the book, so if you like Angels & Demons and Fallen angels books, give it a try.
At this point I don’t see myself continuing the series and rate it a 2★ but only because the idea was neat.
