Opposition - Jennifer L. Armentrout

Synopsis:

Katy knows the world changed the night the Luxen came.

She can't believe Daemon welcomed his race or stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred, and love has become an emotion that could destroy her—could destroy them all.

Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal.

They must team with an unlikely enemy if there is any chance of surviving the invasion. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe, and the world is crumbling around them, they may lose everything— even what they cherish most—to ensure the survival of their friends…and mankind.

War has come to Earth. And no matter the outcome, the future will never be the same for those left standing.

My thoughts:

This was a perfect ending to a great series and it was a bitter sweet to read it. I loved the series and its sad to see all the charterers go but I rather she ended it now with a great ending instead more books that just loose its appeal. This book is in dual POV , Daemon’s and Katy’s which was nice .

The book start soon after the last one ended and we find Katy and Daemon , with Archer and Luc to see what they can do to stop the invading aliens from completely wipe out mankind.

Katy is the same if not a stronger character but she is still the same smart, snarky, book loving Katy we know. Of course a lot of things get thrown her way again this book, but she handles it all great. There were a few times when she is about to lose it and things just get too much for her. But she always bounces back. That’s what I love about Katy. Daemon is also the same, except that he makes it very clear to everyone, what Katy means to him and how much he is willing to do with her. I loved Daemon and Archer together, they are just too funny and I could read about those two together all day.

For those who read Obsession will be pleased that Hunter and Serena as well as his brothers make an appearance in this book.

This book is a great fast paced book with tons of action, romance and humor but also some heartbreak. I really enjoyed it and thought it was a great ending to the series.

I hope someday she will pick up the series again and maybe give us a spin off with Archer, which would be awesome. I would love to read more about him.

I give this book 5  ★

Some of my favorite quotes:

“It’s not like I’m going to run up and hug him.”

His expression turned bland. “I’d sure hope not. I might get jealous.”

“You’d get jealous if she hugged a tree,” Archer tossed out.

“Maybe.” Daemon coasted to a stop in a parking space behind the car. “I’m needy like that.”

***

“I forced myself to stop thinking about Daemon, about anything I didn’t want to share with Archer, which was pretty much everything right now. So I thought about belly dancing foxes wearing grass skirts. Archer snorted. “You’re weird.”

***

“Hell, I’d keep her in Bubble Wrap if it weren’t so damn creepy and also inconvenient, considering I had a terrible habit of obsessively popping the damn things until not a single bubble was left.”

***

“It wasn’t just pretending everything was fine or grasping at normalcy, but grabbing it by the ears and making it my bitch.”
