The Curse of Tenth Grave - Darynda Jones

As a Part-time PI and fulltime grim reaper, Charley Davidson has asked a lot of questions throughout her life: Why can I see dead people? Who is the hot supernatural entity following me? How do I get gum out of my sister’s hair before she wakes up? But, “How do I trap not one malevolent god, but three?” was never among them. Until now. And since those gods are on earth to kill her daughter, she has little choice but to track them down, trap them, and cast them from this dimension.

There’s just one problem. One of the three stole her heart a very long time ago. Can the Razer, a god of absolute death and destruction, change his omniscient spots, or will his allegiances lie with his brothers?

Those are just a few of the questions Charley must answer, and quick. Add to that a homeless girl running for her life, an innocent man who’s been charged with murder, and a pendant made from god glass that has the entire supernatural world in an uproar, and Charley has her hands full. If she can manage to take care of the whole world-destroying-gods thing, we’re saved. If not, well…

After the shocking end of the last book I could not wait to get my hands on this book. And I was soo excited when I finally got approved for it (longest 24 hrs ever lol). I really love this series so much. Charley, Reyes, Cookie and Ubie and all the others are like family at this point and I never can get enough of them. Things are not the same between Charley and Reyes ever since they came back from NY a week ago and Charley is trying to figure out what it is. Of course in true Charley fashion she does everything except really talk to him. She tries but Reyes is no help and making light conversation of everything. There is so much going on in this book that I’m not sure how much or little really to say , also not sure where to start . So I will keep this review rather short and just will go with the major points. Both Reyes and Charley have secrets they keeping from each other but both have some really good reasons… or do they ? Some major developments with Beep are happening. Some news about Reyes come to light that could change everything, Someone loses it and is about to destroy a city with their powers. Charley is going a dangerous road to protect the ones she loves and even willing to sacrifice some great and trusted friends. Charley is about to be exposed to the public. She also teams up with a kind of enemy. The whole book is really an rollercoaster ride, we laugh, we swoon, we are shocked and we cry . There is a lot of new things happening and played with in the beginning and throughout and we get a lot of answers at the end. Some we things are older we always wanted to know others new things that came up. Overall it was just another amazing book in the series that will of course left hanging with as huge shocking cliffhanger. I can not wait for the next book. I rate this book a full 5 ★

Some of my favorite quotes:

He leaned close enough for me to see the peach fuzz on his face. “If I told you, I’d have to kill you, and since you’re a god and all, well, you see my dilemma, belleza.”

***

I had to go through the usual red tape to get to Kit’s office. Metal detector. Pat down. Strip search, but only because I’d asked for one. Guy was hit.

I’m one step away from being rich. All I need is money – Meme

“There is no demon in this house, huh, Artemisia? Well, there is one, but you are such a good girl. Yes, you are.” “You look like a mental patient, “Garrett said, sitting back down. “All I see is you rolling around, talking to my carpet. “
